May
saw Paul joining forces once again with David Shepherd (DSWF) and
many other well known and extremely talented artists, who had donated
their work to raise much needed funds for endangered wildlife.
The venue as usual was the fantastic surroundings of Christies at
South Kensington, London.
As
always the auction room was full of keen and enthusiastic collectors
and foundation supporters. David was on top form, but we expect
nothing less of him. Foundation support staff, including the seemingly
tireless efforts of the foundations head and David's daughter Melanie,
made the evening run smoothly.
I had donated a painting called 'Okendeka Evening'. It was the first
out of the starting gate and raised several thousands of pounds,
going well over its upper estimate. It was to set a trend that was
repeated throughout the evening.
The
auction raised well over £80,000 for wildlife conservation,
and allows the DSWF to carry on its great track record.
